Well Met by Moonlight

It had been a while since I had seen the moon. Oregon winter weather is usually composed of a lot of clouds, wind, and rain. But Luna has shown herself the last couple of nights and this time I ignored the cold and the pain and answered her call.

A Shaky Perspective

I had an interesting lesson today in perspective. No... not the kind we need when drawing... but the “It is all how you look at it” kind. Maybe a better word would be 'Perception.' Either way, I found it very interesting and eye opening.

I have not been here for a few months.

I make no apology... but offer explanation and new direction...

Playing with Dolls: In the Barn

Those who have followed my artwork will know that one of my favourite things to do is see how different and creative I can be with dolls and toys.

Sunspot No. 2553

Two days ago, I took a photograph I think might be a little rare for an amateur photographer. It was of a sunspot using a Canon EOS Rebel T5/1200D and a 75-300mm zoom lens. I posted pics on my personal Facebook, but I want to share them here so more people can see it. Yes... I am showing off!

Waiting for Shadows

Magic is out there... somewhere. I know it is because I have seen it, touched it, tasted it. Often it is in the beauty of the earth before me. Occasionally it is in the air like a smell, a sense,... a quickening. Sometimes it eludes me, but that is ok because I still know it is there.

A Different Kind of Wildlife

I have been posting a lot of wildlife photos on my Facebook pages lately. I am surrounded by blue herons, mallard ducks, Canadian geese, red-tail hawks, ospreys, harriers, and much more.

But this time I think I will share something a little different.

St. Francis - In the Garden

I should have posted this last week but things were a little hectic with life things. So... here it is!
When able, I attend Oak Street Church in Silverton, Oregon. I have been going since 1991and the people there are my 'family.' No matter how long it is between visits I always feel I am coming home. I hope to live in Silverton again someday.

From my Camera: Things Above Me

I have loved photography ever since I was a young girl and my mom gave me a Kodak Brownie camera to use. Film came on a roll and the pictures usually came out blurry but I loved it anyway. I sure wish I had some of the images. The oldest I have are from when I took a class in high school.

From my Camera... and Studio

Today I share a combination of past artwork and recent photos that blend into a fantasy world.  I live in the country and it is sometimes beyond words for me to describe how blessed I feel to be surrounded by so much nature.

ATC: Self Portrait

Here is the ATC card I did for the Art Swap #42, Self Portrait on Grumbacher - Official Fanpage on Facebook. The theme was 'Self Portrait.' I took a 'selfie' and used it to make a graphite drawing.

Vintage Woman

I am a vintage photograph... a sepia toned image now softened and worn around the edges.

I have withstood the tests of sunlight, dampness, and time.

I join others in a family album for future generations to remember how I looked... and what I was like.

I will show my smile and joy of life along with my scars that bear witness to trial and strength.

Wild Woman!

I am now officially a... “Wild Woman”!

I have always known it. My friends have always known of this and, through the years, have accepted and come to enjoy my artistic embracing of my weird side. Strangers have suspected and either joined in my reverie or left shaking their heads.

Either way... I am having fun. This is my ride... my journey... my circus with my monkeys!

There are some pretty cool sites on the internet that showcase the 'beautiful decay' of abandoned structures and locations. Abandoned America is a nice one.

Also, I follow Abandoned Oregon on Facebook. It is a great page and the people seem friendly. The photographs are impressive. They accept reader contributions and today I shared some photos.

I posted a few images of an old chicken coop that sits on the property where I live. I love it for its broken beauty.

From my Camera: Celebrating Winter

It has been a rough winter. I had to pack to move because the property I live on sold to developers. Well, now I celebrate because the deal fell through. I get to stay... (until it happens again, but hopefully I will be a bit more prepared).
